BANGS

So, You when you have a house full of single girls things can get a little out of hand. I decided to take it upon myself and create bangs for everyone tonight after dinner. I hope you enjoy these pictures. Let me know your thoughts- Should I cut bangs? There may be some of you that remember me showing up to a leadership event at church with bangs like this, I almost got my self kicked out. Except I showed up with bangs like this and a spandex one piece ski suit- it was a piece of work. What gets into me????

Stirred

I had a great day of hiking in the beautiful Colorado Mountains. Some of my roomates, friends and I went hiking west of where we live in Glenwood Springs. The hike was called Hanging Lake. It was a beautiful day of being outside with people.

More that the hike, right now my heart is stirred up. We had a guest speaker at church tonight. Pastor Al Pittman from Calvary Colorado Springs shared on Galatians 15. It gets me every time.

Galatians 5:16-26

So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

Why is it so easy to serve two masters? To say yes to the flesh- We need the Spirit of God to lead, guide and be the center of our lives. Why do we give over so easily? or why do I. I need the Holy Spirit to guide my life. I just want to trust and love... The righteous shall live by faith........

I am reminded again that I can do no good thing apart from Jesus.I want Jesus to be the standard and center of my life. I want him to be my motivation, my love, my standard, my instructor, my corrector, my councilor, my shepard, my husband, my best friend, the absolute passion and love of my life.

Jesus use me as your instrument, your fragrance to this broken world. Give me a greater compassion for the people and needs around me. Apart from you I can bear no good thing.

Heading Home

We all got back from camping last night and had a lot of fun. It was pretty cold and a experience to say the least... I woke up to Chris putting more covers on me in the middle of the night and then the first thing I was this morning was Karen wearing a beanie that says "Texas" on it. More details later...... We enjoyed a great bonfire, fellowship, borsch for dinner and lunch and over all great time. We are all headed home tomorrow, a early morning and late night. We would all appreciate your prayers as we travel back home. Thank you for all of your love and prayers in our time here. It has been a blessing to be here and are greatful for the time we have had. I will post some pictures tomorrow.

We are laughing our way through Ukraine......

Just a quick update to let you all know that we are doing well and having a great time with Chris and Reenie. The past few days have been full and fun! We have been able to experience a bit of the ministry here too. Visits to the Internaught, kid's club, the church here, mid- week bible study...... It was been amazing to see a part of what God is doing in the lives here and see how God is using Chris, Reenie, Jake and many other missionaries to plant the church and raise up Ukrainians in the church. It was been so fun just spending time with people and having great conversations. Yesterday we went to Kiev and met up with Danny and Liese Foote. We had a great time there, lots of walking, Danny was a great tour guide! We had some great espresso and gelato! I will post more later about our trip. We have laughed so much this trip- man I don't think any of us have laughed this hard in a long time. We even watched a episode of 24, my first 24 experience! Greatful to be here with friends.

Another Fun Day....

The past few days have been fun seeing the lives of Chris and Reenie. We have also been able to spend good time with or other missionary friends, Jake and Anya Knotts and Connor and Corrin. Yesterday we went over to Connor and Corrin's for lunch and played with the kids, then we headed down to Priluki- it was really sweet to meet everyone there. There is a lot of loving people there and they were really excited to see everyone. I had so sweet conversations with some girls who have really hungry hearts for the Lord. Really i just feel blessed to see what God is doing and how is moving in people's lives here. I have not been able to upload any pictures yet, I will post so pics when I am able too-sorry! Tomorrow we are headed down to Kiev to meet up with Danny and Liese. I will check in with you all later- as for now another day exploring life with Karen, Sherry, Chris and Reenie.
